Don't ever underestimate the power of pocket money. A tractor-trailer carrying $187,000 in nickels en route from the U.S. Mint crashed on a Florida interstate this week, scattering piles of change across the highway and killing one person.

The nickel incident happened when the money truck rear-ended another semi and then overturned, scattering more than 3 million nickels across the interstate. The shiny spill backed up traffic for hours and sent drivers from both trucks to the hospital.

Sadly, there'll be no swimming through piles of money, Scrooge McDuck-style -- Treasury officials said they'll be picking up every last cent.
