Around-About (n.): A guy who refuses to nail down an actual date, but still continues to express interest in hanging out. He'll say things like, "Yeah! We should totally grab drinks sometime. I'm around -- let's talk next week?" If you try and initiate discussion about when this supposed date will take place, it will strangely be met with resistance, even if it was his idea in the first place to get together. Come Thursday:
You: "What are you up to this weekend?"
Him: "Well, I'm hanging out with my buddies on Friday, then I'm going to a wedding on Saturday."
You (internally) : "Grrrrrrrr!"
You (externally): "Oh, yeah, I thought, drinks ..."
Him: "Yes, definitely! I'm around next week."
His non-commitment to finalizing a time and place to meet will cause more frustration than it's worth. Move on -- or just take yourself on a date. Ice cream cones were practically invented for situations like this.
